Uusis on muuten "valmentanut" minua curlauksen saloihin, ja voi todistaa: Uusis on Äijä. Isollä Äällä.

Uusi suomalainen idoli, siis :)

Um, hockey is the only real Olympic sport, which is why it's quite an accomplishment that you guys kicked our Canadian asses. Congratulations once again, Janne, but I must remind you: Curling and ice dancing are really just parlor games. ;-)

I have never understood why they use fixed throwing order in curling (as opposed to the system used in petanque: The team that is not closest to the target throws if they have balls left). The curling system leads to the concept of 'hammer', that is, the team that does not start the end has a huge advantage, which leads to the curiosity that it is sometimes better to make an end draw than win by one point. Seems to spoil the game to some extent.

But anyway, curling and ice dancing are fun to watch. I'd add snooker and professional wrestling to the list (snooker for the same reason as curling and professional wrestling for the same reason as ice dancing). They are not winter sports, though.

On the other hand, it does open up some tactical plays... Though I think the advantage is calculated at 1.5 points; maybe it's not that huge?

Pro wrestling is something I can say that I don't like. I understand it (thanks to the efforts of a few fans and friends), but... No, I just don't find it that alluring. I would say that it's all that glorification of violence, but then again, I like kung-fu movies and Lucha Libre. Maybe it's just the attitude I find annoying.
