The fact that you don't know when it's a holiday just means that you have enough nörtti-credibility to do your job. Hey come on, an engineer that keeps track of IRL kinda shit? And of course I am just kidding here..

Hey - I can't even read the name of the holiday and I figured it out. Engineers have designers to remind them when holiday is... ;-)

Damnation. I was supposed to snail-mail a printed script over today so that the director could receive it Friday, read it over the weekend, and then we could meet on Monday or Tuesday after he's digested it for a while. But I couldn't, because it's Ascension Day! I'd even read about it here, but somehow the thought of the Post Office closing down for such an obscure reason didn't cross my mind at the time.

Now the director will receive the letter Monday, and we probably won't be meeting until Thursday or Friday.

Bugger :/

A lot of noise from such a small holiday. It probably creates more aggravation than relaxation. I think we should have a "move ascension day to Friday" -movement...

I think it's a bit like Easter. You never remember it's coming, and it always makes things hugely inconvenient. This year I was lucky enough to spend Easter in the Czech Republic, which due to its communist past did not close down for no apparent reason. Why can't we have something like that here?
