Pony trekking in Iceland - a travelogue
In one beautiful day in February, I happened to mention to a friend that I would someday like to go to Iceland, and she says one can do very nice pony treks in there. The idea sounds so stupid (me, having been twice on horseback before), that it somehow sticks behind my brow. We poke at the idea a bit more, but she refuses to do any "beginner trips", having 20 years of riding experience. Which means that I have to learn to ride - properly.
So, I sign up on a riding course, and start preparing myself. I get about 20 hours of riding experience before I get I climb into an airplane on a beautiful August morning, still feeling completely unsure about the whole idea.
