This small tool allows you to type in any valid characters into the box above, and have it turned into a Java standard ASCII escape codes. I wrote this, since I got tired of manually writing the test cases for non-Latin1 names and strings when writing unit tests. For example, go to Yomiuri Shimbun, cut-n-paste some random Japanese text and use it in your test suite.
